Picking a faction other than the Principi in Deadfire can and will cost you 1 or more companions. Hell Pallegina is notoriously hard to keep around. And we're going to ignore that 3 of the companions can be lost forever depending on the resolution of PoE1 (though I suppose if you didn't like them in 1 you won't in 2).
